The 2024 general election is scheduled to be held on Thursday, 4 July 2024. 58 seats will be up for election in South West England.
Background[edit]
In the 2019 general election, the Conservatives won 48 seats in the region and Labour won 6.[2] The Liberal Democrats held Bath.[3]
Electoral system[edit]
The election will be fought under the boundaries created by the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies.[4]
Constituencies[edit]
South West England will elect 58 MPs, which is 3 more than the 55 elected in 2019 general election.[5]
Candidates[edit]
Candidates in bold were MPs at dissolution and represented a constituency in that parliamentary term which is succeeded at least partially by the constituency they're standing for election in at this election, in some cases not for the party they were aligned with when they were originally elected, and also includes those elected at by-elections in the preceding parliament. Italics denotes incumbent MPs not contesting the election.
